Billy Crystal Will Bring Solo Show 700 Sundays to Minneapolis for Pre-Broadway Run

Before returning to Broadway in November, Billy Crystal will bring his Tony Award-winning show 700 Sundays to Minneapolis. The pre-Broadway run will begin on October 22 at the State Theatre and go through October 26. Tickets go on sale June 22.

"700 Sundays has, without question, been the most satisfying experience of my career. When we originally opened on Broadway, all I knew was that I had a story that I was compelled to share," said Crystal in a statement announcing his Broadway return. "I’ve now decided to tell this story one last time in my own backyard, where it all took place. It is a privilege to return to Broadway to say goodbye to one of the greatest thrills of my life."

700 Sundays, which is performed and written by Crystal with additional material by Alan Zweibel and directed by Des McAnuff, originally opened in 2004 at the Broadhurst Theater and ran for 163 performances. The solo show deals with his youth, growing up in the jazz world of Manhattan, his teenage years, and finally adulthood. It is about family and fate, loving and loss. The show won the 2005 Tony Award for Special Theatrical Experience.
