Broadway Blockbuster Hamilton Headed to Boston During 2017-2018 Season at the Boston Opera House

March 21st, 2016 | By Ryan Gilbert

History has its eyes on you, Bean Town! As previously announced, Lin-Manuel Miranda's gargantuan Broadway hit Hamilton is heading out on the road beginning the spring of 2017 and the touring production will be making a stop at the Boston Opera House as part of Boston's 2017–2018 Broadway season. Exact dates for the tour have yet to be announced, but subscribers will have first access to Hamilton seats.

So, what comes next? It's easy: the best way for theatergoers to secure their seats is by subscribing to the recently-announced Lexus Broadway in Boston 2016-2017 season and renewing for the 2017-2018 season. Yes, it's really that easy. Directed by Thomas Kail and featuring a book, music and lyrics by Miranda, Hamilton is currently playing at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre; an open-ended Chicago incarnation will begin its run this fall.

Hamilton is inspired by the book Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow. The new musical follows the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America, from bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all make appearances in the tuner about America’s fiery past.
